Description: Ocean Ships, Inc. is hiring Chief Mates Rotation: 4 months on/off Military Sealift Command (MSC) and Maritime Administration (MARAD) contract fleet of full and reduced operating status vessels. Routes: International and coastal Primary Function: Responsible for the administration and supervision of deck department functions; accountable for the safe handling, storage, and transporting of cargo and for the planning and administration of deck maintenance; determines stability, trim; instructs the crew in the preparation of cargo operations, and transportation of cargo; verifies and monitors the safe navigation of the vessel. Acts as Ship’s Security Officer. Overall, in charge of the Deck department. Minimum Qualifications: USCG MMC Chief Mate Unlimited Oceans or higher Basic Training VPDSD Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch (RFPNW) STCW without limitation Valid TWIC US citizen with valid Passport Valid USCG Medical Certificate (STCW date valid) AMO member or must be willing to join All documents must be valid for the duration of the hitch Preferred Additional Qualifications US Security Clearance Medical PIC Drug and Alcohol Testing MSC Training Damage Control Environmental Awareness CBRD orientation Small Arms Watch stander basic and advanced Ship Reaction Force Anti-Terrorism Officer CBRD - Officer COMSEC Training (EKMS) AR2 LAN Manager
