Job Description
Responsibilities: • Conduct vessel inspections, navigational audits, and performance evaluations for vessels and crew in accordance with Company policy and TMSA guidelines. • Manage SIRE inspection program, including tracking, scheduling, preparing vessels, attending, responding to observations, and implementing any changes. • Manage Sinex database as applicable to Port Captains office. To include crewmember training and support, future database expansion, closing out service requests. • Perform in the company incident response/spill management team as assigned. • Work in conjunction with departmental managers as applicable to ensure that all vessels, operations, and crew members are operating in accordance with applicable federal, state and customer policies and regulations. • Work with departmental managers to address corrective actions for non-conformities and to investigate incidents involving crew and vessels. • Comply with the company’s safety management system (SMS). Make recommendations to the tug operations team for annual revision. Continually review current procedures and controls and make recommendations for improvement. • Interface with customers and regulatory agencies on a continual basis, schedule and oversee approved vendors as necessary. • Conduct vessel safety meetings and vessel visits at a frequency no less than required by the SMS. • Work in conjunction with the area Port Captains and training manager to make recommendations for training and assist with training if necessary. • Support day to day tug operations in conjunction with Area Manager and Port Captains.
