Job Description
Support the bridge and carry out navigational watch duties. Carry out maintenance work on marine equipment and structures, as well as on safety equipment. Take part in other marine operations as required. Responsibility Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the below. ◾ Perform other work as directed ◾ Emergency responsibilities as per station bill. Responsible for: ◾ Carry out maintenance work on hull, superstructure, cargo gear and other deck equipment and machinery ◾ Carry out maintenance work on safety equipment ◾ Operate mooring equipment ◾ Manage paint inventory and paint mixing ◾ Manage spare safety equipment inventory ◾ Manage tank entry and rescue equipment inventory ◾ Carry out safety and security rounds Participate in: ◾ Other relevant maintenance tasks ◾ Deck activities Authority Where responsibility is allocated the matching authority is also granted, unless otherwise stated. Stop any operation when deemed unsafe to continue. Documentation and record responsibilities N/A Qualification requirements Experience: ◾ Minimum 2 years of experience on a floating unit and preferably on a drilling rig. Certification Requirements: ◾ Training according to training matrix ◾ Certificate of Competency – STCW A-II/4 Rating Forming Part of Navigational Watchkeeping or STCW A-II/5 – Able-Bodied Seaman Additional Skills: ◾ Working knowledge of English Deputy N/A Requisitioning authority Determined by job level as per corporate guidelines.
