Description City Experiences is seeking a Regional Director of Operations for our City Experiences operation in Southern California About You: This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System. About the Opportunity: This role will be an integral part of the City Experience/City Cruises team responsible for regional vessel readiness and asset management, HSSQE policies, SMS implementation and verification, marine training programs, capital requirements development and regulatory policy with federal and state regulatory agencies. The Regional Director of Marine Operations will oversee the regional vessel operations inclusive of capital improvements, system and asset management, and vessel aesthetics. Oversee and audit the professional development programs for the marine shipmates within the region. Oversee and audit the adherence of all safety and security standards set by the Company. Ensure the regulatory compliance standards are successfully implemented, enforced, and monitored on a regular basis within the region. Collaborate and support the Directors of Marine Operations within the Region to ensure they have the tools and resources to be successful in leading their respective city marine operations. City-level heads of Marine Operations will continue reporting to their General Manager’s, with dotted line responsibility to the Regional Director of Marine Ops. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Establish regional marine priorities based on the guidance and direction of the VP of Marine Ops, Regional VPs and City General Managers Work collaboratively with City General Managers to maintain Long Range Maintenance Plans for all vessels and facilities within the region Develop, implement, and maintain an asset management program to ensure all marine assets are maintained and in working order, focusing on both system reliability and aesthetics. Ensure City Marine Teams plan, manage, control, and execute all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels. Manage a performance enhancement culture by actively coaching and mentoring Marine leadership within your region, providing regular feedback, and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities. These programs include on the job training, leadership training and career growth and development planning. Strategically manage vessel repowers to ensure regulatory compliance and improved emissions, reliability, and fuel consumption. Assist the National Marine team to actively seek Federal and State Grants to reduce the cost of vessel repowers. As applicable, implement and monitor guidelines, standards and regulations related to company Safety Management Systems (SMS). Audit adherence to SMS requirements within the region and assist in auditing SMS programs within Hornblower Group. Fulfill Designated Person Ashore responsibilities for the Region Ensure the regional fleet is aligned and exceeding regulation compliance and maintain all safety practices. Establish, maintain, and foster relationships with the United State Coast Guard, and all federal and state regulatory agencies as appropriate Work closely with the Directors of Marine Operations/Port Directors/Port Captains within the region to optimize assets to drive business results forward and achieve their budget goals Participates in the development of the regional strategic business plan Maintains close liaison with all departments within the region Executes other projects as assigned by management Additional job duties as assigned.
