We are currently searching for a Ships Electrician/Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to work on Dredge projects around the country. Who We Are: For 25 years, Curtin Maritime has been an industry leader in quality maritime solutions. We are a dynamic Marine Construction and Marine Transportation company experiencing rapid growth. Our team provides customers with a complete suite of maritime solutions, allowing us the incredible opportunity to work on unique projects in some of the most amazing locations on earth. What You’ll Do: Safe operation and routine maintenance of the vessel’s power, propulsion, auxiliary, and other electro-mechanical and electronic systems in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations of the vessel’s flag, the international community, company policies and procedures, and the manufacturer’s recommendations in a manner responsible to the safety of the crew. Under the direct and active supervision of a licensed officer, monitoring, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance in accordance with Company procedures and in a manner responsible to the safety of the crew and the protection of the natural environment. Responsible care and use of the vessel’s consumable spares, mechanical stores, and tools inventories. General vessel maintenance and monitoring reporting to Chief Engineer Create work plans and execute daily tasks in accordance with the established schedule in Vessel Management System. Update completed tasks with notes in Vessel Management System as completed. Maintain inventory of tools and critical/spare parts on board the vessel. Assign work to any assistant engineering staff and monitor to ensure satisfactory completion. Work as a deckhand as needed Who You Are: You are an experienced Ships Electrician/Electro Technical Officer (ETO) with two (2) or more years of experience working with diesel electric systems. You have the following Mental Aptitudes: Ability to handle stressful situations with focus. Understanding importance and taking pride and responsibility in mastering the small things, before mastering the big ones. Understand and respect the chain of command. Ability to take direction no matter how it is given. Continuously demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and ownership by being pro-active in all situations /tasks. You have the following Physical Aptitudes: Must meet “fit for duty” requirements upon job offer (pre-employment physical and drug test). The employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfaces. Able to work in confined spaces and carry heavy tools for extended periods of time. Must be able to pull heavy lines/hoses, lift, carry heavy items, climb onto barges and up and down ladders. Must be comfortable entering tanks and other confined spaces. Must be able to work in difficult conditions with exposure to all weather conditions (rain, ice, snow, wind, heat, etc.). Must be comfortable working aboard boats and barges using heavy lines, winches, and mechanical tools for repairs. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work when exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels, and potentially hazardous equipment. It would be nice for you to currently have: Merchant Mariner Credential USCG Medical Card STCW Reg. III/6-Electro Technical Officer TWIC Card Passport, or ability to obtain a passport MODU experience Chief Engineer OSV Where We Work: Our jobs take us all over the world.
